Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder

(PTSD)

Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is a type of anxiety that results from trauma exposure. While an off-label blood pressure medication (prazosin) has shown to be most effective for trauma symptoms, it can be difficult for some to tolerate. We have experience helping people find a tolerable, but effective dose…even if it requires dosing below the normal starting doses. Prazosin is just one of many medications that can be helpful for trauma symptoms.

Therapy for trauma symptoms is often a critical component of recovery. We do a limited amount of therapy for trauma within the practice, but usually try to help clients find a dedicated trauma therapist outside the practice.
